On that note alone, a mission accomplished for the Philippine President.

 

It was released that of all the world leader requesting a bilateral talk with the United States President Joe Biden, only the Philippines President was granted access.

 

A sit down bilateral meeting at the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

"A lot of requests have been made to the US President. It is significant that he spoke only with President Marcos on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly," she told reporters, including state broadcaster PTV, in New York City.

The official said Biden also met with one other leader, but that was a postponed schedule moved to the same day Biden held bilateral talks with Marcos.

"All the more it becomes significant that President Marcos has been able to speak with the US president," Angeles added.

Biden and Marcos addressed the media before their bilateral meeting to discuss a wide range of topics, including the West Philippine Sea.

They talked about their mutual desire to deepen the partnership between Manila and Washington.
