The PH Navy will acquire its second Pohang-class Anti-submarine corvette from South Korea

 

It would seem the Philippines will be adding another warship in its inventory.

 

A report from MaxDefense stated that the South Korean government will be donating another Pohang-class corvette to the Philippine Navy.

 

The former ROKS Andong (PC-771) will be coming home to the Philippines soon, Maxdefense said.

Although no date of transfer was given but the Philippine Navy is said to be making an update on the transfer of the corvette soon.

The corvette will get its Philippine name once it gets commissioned with the Philippine Navy.

 

Maxdefense further states that:

 

Although unconfirm, there are information from sources saying the transfer of ROKS Andong was facilitated in an agreement as part of the selection of Hyundai Heavy Industries for the PN's Corvette Acquisition Project.
