If DFA post is not available: Clarita Carlos eyed as Nat’l Security Adviser

There will always be a plan B.

Retired University of the Philippines (UP) political science professor Clarita Carlos is reportedly being considered as President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s National Security Adviser, according to Politiko.

Carlos could be appointed to the post if she is not chosen to head the Foreign Secretary portfolio.

Last week, Marcos said he wanted to know from Carlos which position she felt she could be “most of help.”

“The Propesora, we have been in consultation with her. We are asking her, where do you feel you can be most of help? And we are still waiting for her answer,” he said, referring to Carlos.

Carlos has regularly been interviewed by the media for her take on political issues.

She was one of the panelists during the presidential debate hosted by SMNI, which Marcos attended.
