The appointment of Vice President elect Sara
Duterte to head the Department of Education has been met with a lot of
criticism most especially from the communist Left.
Inday Sara in her previous interview have
intimated that she wants the Reserved Officers Training Course (ROTC) back in
our schools.
A lot of debate has been going even though
this has been just a mere suggestion.

Its good to note of this viral post from a
criminology student from Negros Occidental as to why ROTC should be made
mandatory.
Full quote of the FB post below:
Why YES to Mandatory ROTC?
I started my ROTC Journey wayback
2019 when I entered University of Negros Occidental- Recoletos as a freshman
student. I was hesitated before knowing it was quite far from my personality.
But then ROTC gave me the chance to explore my adventurous inner self and go
out from my comfort zone.
"Ah , ROTC? bilad lang naman sa
araw kaya nila"
"ROTC? you're just wasting your
time beh"
"Sus, ROTC? mga pa siga siga
lang naman yan sa school"
No! ROTC will train you to become:
A responsible leader
Disciplined
Selfless Servant
Trustworthy
Committed
Patriotic
I myself experienced and enjoyed the
process, I learned to become prepared in anything. First Aid, Self Defense,
Community Engagement and other Social Activities is one of the first goal of
ROTC. So now, tell me pabilad lang sa araw yong alam namin? .To the girls out
there, always explore yourself never stop learning!
