Matatandaan din na noong pumasok ang administrasyong Duterte, isa sa mga pinakamatinding problema na kinaharap ng Land Transportation Office-Philippines (LTO) ay ang mabansagang “Republikang Walang Plaka."

Dahil sinimulang trabahuhin ng LTO, sa pamumuno ni Chief Asec. Edgar Galvante ang pag-digitize at pag-upgrade sa mga proseso at sistema noon pang 2016. Ang inisyatibong ito ay naaayon sa direktiba ni Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Art Tugade na alisin ang red tape at gawing madali ang proseso para sa publiko.

 

NGAYON, gumagamit na ang LTO ng IDeROBOT, ang plate-making robotic system na kayang mag-produce ng 700 vehicle license plates sa loob ng isang oras, na nagbibigay-daan sa mas mabilis, technology-based, at sistematikong paggawa ng plaka. Gamit ang robot na ito, tinatayang aabot sa mahigit 5,600 plaka ang maipo-produce sa isang 8-hour shift kada araw.

 

Dumating at ginagamit na rin ang pangalawang Automated Plate-Making Robot, para naman sa pag-produce ng motorcycle plates.

 

May kakayahan ang machine na mabilis na makapag-produce ng 450 motorcycle plates kada oras, 3,600 motorcycle plates sa kada walong ( oras na shift sa isang (1) araw, at 7,200 motorcycle plates sa isang (1) araw, base sa two-shift complement basis. Sa kabuuan, ang kayang ma-produce ng machine sa loob ng isang (1) buwan sa pamamagitan ng two-shift per day basis ay umaabot sa 158,400.

Maliban pa sa mga makabagong pasilidad, mas pinaigting din ang security features ng mga pino-produce na plaka, kaya hindi ito madaling mapeke. Kontrolado rin ng LTO IT system ang code ng bawat plaka para iwas "kambal-plaka."
