Desperate Leni will do anything, including resorting to false accusations against her rivals, just to get votes.

For the past weeks, the commentaries in this newspaper exposed the terrible truth about Leni Robredo, the scheming, ambitious and insincere de facto candidate for president of the very unpopular Liberal Party.

The commentaries reveal that Leni has an incurable penchant for praising herself needlessly and telling lies about her rivals for the presidency. Her burning desire to be president ever since she accidentally became Vice President in 2016 has also been repeatedly exposed. It has also been continuously disclosed that local communists have infiltrated Leni’s camp.

Despite the terrible truth about her, Leni is still denying the facts. Instead of giving straight answers to the embarrassing issues against her, she insists she is a victim of fake news and that her rivals have been unfair to her.

Well, the cat is finally out of the bag.

In a joint press conference held on Easter Sunday earlier this week, three other candidates for the presidency announced what this newspaper has been pointing out all along.

According to rival bets Senator Ping Lacson, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso, and former National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales, Leni is dishonest and should not be elected president. They also scored Leni for her alleged ties to communist groups, and for her underhanded strategy of raiding the ranks of their supporters.

 

Ping revealed that Leni has been sending emissaries to convince her rivals to withdraw in her favor. A few days back, he revealed that former Quezon City Mayor Jun Simon asked him to withdraw from the presidential race, and that if he withdraws, Leni will instruct Kiko Pangilinan, her equally insincere vice-presidential running mate, to likewise withdraw from the elections.

“They’re trying to strip us of our supporters. It happened to me with Reporma; they hijacked it. It also happened to Mayor Isko with his Ikaw Muna,” Ping said. Ikaw Muna is a pro-Isko group which recently joined Leni’s camp.

Earlier this month, former House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, who launched Ping’s presidential bid under the Reporma banner, abandoned him for Leni. Alvarez said he switched sides because the P800-million campaign funds Ping promised him was never given. That development led to Ping’s subsequent decision to run as an independent candidate.

Isko scored Leni’s insincerity and duplicity, noticeable as early as late 2021, after she duped some presidential contenders into believing that she wanted to unite the opposition, and that she has no interest in running for president.

 

 

“I was fooled in the face by the Vice President. She told me that she won’t run for president. That kind of person (referring to Leni) cannot be trusted,” he emphasized.

Isko also urged Leni to withdraw from the presidential derby.

Gonzales revealed that former Commissioner Rowena Guanzon of the Commission on Elections also asked him to withdraw. Guanzon is a rabid Leni ally. Last February, this newspaper criticized Guanzon for her scandalous behavior as a poll body commissioner.

Moreover, Gonzales stressed that Leni’s camp has been infiltrated by communists. To support his statement, he cited intelligence reports he obtained in his capacity as former Defense chief.

On an earlier occasion, Ping noted the presence of many communists and red sympathizers among those who have been attending Leni’s rallies, including one held in Cavite last month.

Cavite Representative Boying Remulla confirms Ping’s observation on the participation and involvement of radical elements and their sympathizers in Leni’s rally in Cavite.

Her main rival for the presidency is former Senator Bongbong Marcos, who consistently leads in the election surveys. Leni rates only half of Bongbong’s survey scores. Precisely for that reason, she has been training her campaign speeches against Bongbong. As aptly stated by Ping, Isko and Gonzales, the desperate Leni will do anything, including resorting to false accusations against her rivals, just to get votes.

The terrible truth about Leni Robredo has been revealed to the people. She cannot be trusted with the presidency.
