Blogger salutes Archbishop Palma in reminding priests not to campaign at pulpit

Time and time again during elections, one would wonder why there is no “Catholic vote.”

The 2016 elections so the importance of the endorsement of Apollo Carreon Quiboloychurch leader of the Philippines-based Restorationist church called the Kingdom of Jesus Christ endorssed the candidacy of then Davao mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte in his journey that culminated to the presidency in Malacanang.

This 2022 national elections will be no different as presidential aspirants would want to have the solid backing of these religious groups because of the block voting they bring.

Blogger Mr. Carlo de Leon weighs in on the issue and has categorically said in his Facebook post that: “THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A CATHOLIC VOTE. THERE NEVER WAS, AND THERE WILL NEVER BE”

For the full appreciation of his post we have quoted it in full, please see below:

“Thank you, Archbishop Palma. Some Church leaders allied with the pinks make it appear in the media that the Church is endorsing them.

“The Archbishop said that the Catholic Church in the Philippines will not be endorsing particular candidates but will be releasing guidelines on voting with discernment and information.

With this, he reminded priests that they could not use the pulpit to campaign for their chosen candidates.”
