The connection between
Willie Revillame and the Villar’s are very strong.
As reported, Revillame
has confirmed his decision to join former senator Manny Villar's Advanced Media
Broadcasting System Inc. (AMBS) network during the last live airing of his
variety game show "Wowowin" on Friday.
In the program,
Revillame shared that he did not sign the contract of GMA offering him an
extension until February 2023 "out of delicadeza."

"More than a
month, nasa akin na po ang kontrata (the contract has been with me). Actually
po, ang kontrata, three months before, inaalam na po ng kompanya (GMA) kung
magre-renew pa (the GMA company has been asking me whether I will still renew
my contract)," Revillame cleared.
Speaking in Filipino,
Revillame said he did not sign the contract "out of delicadeza and respect
for Felipe Gozon", CEO of GMA Network. He said it was not right to be
doing a show with GMA when he was planning with another station that was a
rival of GMA.
Revillame shared that
he did not have any problems with GMA where he stayed for 6 years and eight
months and whose staff he has learned to love.
Reports about Revillame's
transfer began after AMBS was granted by the National Telecommunications
Commission (NTC) to use the frequencies previously assigned to ABS-CBN – two
years after its renewal of franchise was rejected by the House of
Representatives. Villar's new company – which was given a 25-year franchise to
operate – secured a provisional authority to operate a digital television
broadcasting system in Metro Manila and Mega Manila using Channel 16.
Revillame said Villar sought his
help as the business tycoon has no background in operating a TV network.
Revillame also revealed that there
were no clear plans yet on when or how they would run the new network and
denied rumors that they were talking to some artists to join the station.
