Everything we say comes from the heart, Lacson-Sotto

 

This tandem is all about business!.

No scripts, no pretentions, just all from the heart. Partido Reporma presidential candidate Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and running mate Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III said they speak to the public about everything, and what they say comes from their hearts, as they are aligned in both principles and truthfulness to the Filipinos they have served for many decades.

During their meeting with reporters “Meet the Press”, who were persistent in picking their minds on their decisions to offload fellow Senator Sherwin Gatchalian from their ticket’s senatorial slate after the latter publicly declared his support for another pairing.

Ping was the first to say something about Gatchalian in his Twitter account, followed by Sotto  who then said the same things to the newshounds about Gatchalian, a partymate in the Nationalist People’s Coalition that he chairs.

“Idagdag ko lang. No, we haven’t coordinated ha. But you see how consistent we are. Noong sinabi ko sa inyo ‘yung sinabi ko kanina, parehong-pareho ng sinasabi… today. Ganoon kami ka-consistent, ganoon kami magbasa ng sarili naming…” Lacson told the media.

“Alam mo, we don’t need to talk every day [kung] ano ba ang sasabihin natin, ano ba ‘yung dialogue, ano ba ‘yung script – wala kaming script. Because everything that we say comes from here,” added the longtime public servant, while pointing to his heart.

“Ah, ‘yun ba ang sinabi mo rin? [Ah, is that what you said too?]” Sotto asked Lacson.

“Oo. Pareho, pareho. Wala kaming pag-uusap kung ano isasagot sa inyo kasi hindi naming kailangan mag-usap e. [Yes, the same, the same. We haven’t discussed what to answer to you (media) because we don’t need to talk it over.] That’s how consistent we are. That’s how we know each other,” he replied to the Senate President and to the reporters present live and on Zoom.

“Ang nakita namin parang they have chosen to embrace a different set of advocacies and principles. And to us, non-negotiable ‘yung mga principles e. Kaya nga mayroong standards na sinet kami even before na ‘yung i-a-adopt namin, we don’t care if you don’t endorse us but please don’t endorse other tandems or other candidates for that matter,” sabi ni Lacson.

 Lacson-Sotto campaign is guided by the messages “Aayusin ang Gobyerno, Aayusin ang Buhay ng mga Pilipino” (Fix the Government, Improve the Lives of Filipinos) and “Uubusin ang Magnanakaw” (Get Rid of the Thieves).
