The UniTeam’s
Bongbong Marcos Jr. and Inday Sara Duterte tandem for the 2022 national
elections is undoubtedly the frontrunner in the upcoming elections as far as
the former senate president is concerned.
In Enrile’s Facebook
post he said that he is “optimistic about the chances of Marcos-Duterte duo in
the May polls, adding this presidential tandem is “the one to beat.”
He noticed that Marcos
Jr. has been attacked left and right by opponents and critics, just like what
happened to his father, the late President Ferdinand Marcos. At the time, the
former Defense minister said Marcos won the election despite the “virulent attacks”
against him.

“This election reminds
me of the election of 1965. President Ferdinand Marcos was the most maligned
candidate ever in Philippine history up to that point. The virulent attacks
against him surpassed those against Elpidio Quirrno and Carlos P Garcia in
their time. Yet, he won the election,” Enrile said.
“Now the same thing is
happening to Bong Bong Marcos. Oh, what a repetition of history! It simply
means to me that the Bong Bong and Sara tandem is the one ahead and the one to
beat. Nothing more, nothing less,” he said.
The former senate
president has declared support for Marcos and Duterte in the next elections,
saying they are the most capable to lead the country.
“Based on my personal
criteria and the looming problems of the country in this decade and beyond,
Team BBM-Sara Duterte is the most viable and capable leadership to lead, guide,
and manage our country during the perilous years ahead,” he said.
