The past two years is undoubtedly a challenging for everyone,
a lot of gainfully employed individuals lost their jobs.
With the government initiative of giving ayuda to
its qualified citizens, still P5,000 is not enough to survive this pandemic.
The
start of the Dream
Kremmie Rodriguez and Jessie Alcazar is part of the
percentage that lost their jobs because of the pandemic, knowing and realizing
that the ayuda is not enough, they chose to make their own by starting a humble
business.
Dimsum!!!
They started with 1-2 kg a day, but are now getting
orders of up to 40 kg a day!
And from that Php4,000 ayuda, they were able to grow
their business and earn Php178k per month.
Now they’re now enjoying the fruits of their hard earned labor, with a new home
for the family, it wasn’t easy at first.
“Nag-start lang kami ng capital of PHP4,000. Actually, it came from ayuda pa
nga, e. Halos every day ako nagpo-post sa iba-ibang group. Pinasok ko hanggang
sa makilala,” Rodriguez explained.
“And then we start selling it sa mga friends, sa
family, and then, eventually, hindi namin namalayan na dumadami na siya.”
Alcazar
is a dimsum chef, the partnership was a able to come up with different
varieties of dimsum that made them successful.
“Yung pork xiao long bao po kasi natin parang tinatawag po siyang soup dumpling. Kumbaga, may sabaw siya sa loob. Pag kinain mo siya, kailangan butasan mo muna siya nang konti, ‘tapos patagasin mo yung sabaw sa soup spoon,” Rodriguez explained. Each order is worth Php78 to Php158, but customers also have the option to buy a platter.
