Dennis Uy wants ABS-CBN to pay P200M for reporting on Malampaya deal:‘I suffered damages to my reputation’

ABS-CBN Corporation will be facing another big problem.

Businessman Dennis Uy wants the Lopez owned and controlled ABS-CBN Corporation to pay him P200 million in damages for doing its job and reporting on his company’s buyout of Chevron’s stake in Malampaya Has project, which he said was a “strictly private transaction.”

In a 12-page cyberlibel complaint filed on November 25, 2021 with the Davao City Prosecutor’s Office, Uy said he suffered “reputational damage” because of the two articles posted on ABS-CBN’s news website about the deal.

“I suffered damages to my reputation to the public and my good standing in the business community here and abroad, which I built through many years of effort and expense. It will take years for me to recover from that reputational damage,” said Uy.

ABS-CBN said in a January 13 article that it only received Uy’s complaint on January 10, 2022. Named as respondents in the suit were ABS-CBN President and Chief Executive Officer Carlo Katigbak, news executive Lynda Jumilla and reporter Anjo Bagaoisan, who wrote the articles on the Malampaya transaction.

The articles mentioned in Uy’s suit were about the graft complaint filed by a group of private individuals over the sale of Chevron’s stake in the Malampaya gas project to Uy’s Udenna Corporation.

Uy said the transaction did not violate the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

“The share purchase was a strictly private transaction between Udenna and Chevron. The government was not affected in any way,” he said.

Mind you, pandemya pa ngaun!

Aminin mo na...

Pagkulang ang sweldo, there are no "ipon tips" that can help you, kapatid.

Nakagawa ka na din ba ng Budget plan pero d mo naman nasunod?

Well, pag Tigang na, wala ka ng mapipiga, tama?

Instead, you need another source o multiply your income.

Sa karamihan, meron lang two options:

1) Get another job.

2) Start a side business.

Do you want to achieve "RICH" level na according to the government.

A business na pwedeng sa bahay lang while super safe ka at naka online ka lang habang naka pambahay.

Usap tayo...
