Magdalo member and former senator Antonio
Trillanes IV future has been known as he declares his own bid for a senate seat
in the 2022 national elections.
He will be part of the senate aspirants of the
party of VP Leni Robredo.
Trillanes announced
his senatorial run shortly after Vice President Leni Robredo decided to run for
president in the upcoming elections. The two posed for a photograph, that was
later posted on the former senator’s Facebook page.

“I am so honored to
run as Senator under the slate of our next President,” Trillanes said on
Facebook.
Trillanes was quoted
earlier saying he will run for president if VP Robredo won’t finalize her 2022
plans by Friday. October 8 is the last day of weeklong filing of certificate of
candidacy for the 2022 national and local elections.
The former senator has
been trying to convince Robredo to seek presidency as he considered the
prospect of united opposition is unlikely to succeed.
In another Facebook
post, Trillanes welcomed Robredo’s decision to run for president. He said he
and the rest of the Magdalo group will support her presidential run.
“Nagbubunyi ang
Magdalo sa desisyon ni VP Leni Robredo na pamunuan ang TUNAY NA OPOSISYON sa
2022 elections sa pagtakbo bilang Presidente. Makakasama nya ang Magdalo para
maipanalo ang laban na ‘to, at tuluyang iahon ang ating bansa mula sa
pagkasirang ginawa ni duterte. #LabanLeni2022,” he said.
