Self-proclaimed Human Rights lawyer
Chel Diokno has announced his intention of running for a senate seat in the
2022 elections.
He says that his lost in the ;ast mid
year elections part of the Otso-diretso disaster has made him more prepared for
the upcoming elections.
“We did not have much resources, we
did not have a ground crew that could really fight the ground war... but I’ve
had two years to think about it, to plan how to wage a better campaign and
during this time a lot has changed, the political landscape has changed,”
Diokno said in an interview with “The Chiefs” on One News.

“We have seen how important is it to
have a good message and to really take advantage of social media platforms,” he
added.
A known ally of the opposition,he said he is
currently unaffiliated with any political party.
Diokno
ran for Senate under opposition coalition Otso Diretso. He lost with 6,308,065
votes.
