President Rodrigo Roa Duterte claps
back at those re-election seeking senators who has been criticizing him in
order to get the much needed media mileage for the 2022 national elections.
In one of his address to the
nation broadcast, the chef executive has urged the voting public to shun and
not vote for the incumbent senators running for reelection next year.
Duterte told Filipinos
not to believe in congressional inquiries which lawmakers use for political
grandstanding.

“Hindi ako
namumulitika, pero ‘wag niyo paniwalaan kaagad ang mga sinasabi sa Kongreso,
lalo na ang mga congressman, puro daldal lang para makaporma kasi eleksyon na,”
the Chief Executive said.
“Ang hinihingi ko sa
taong bayan, ang lahat ng senador, ito kung pagbigyan niyo ako, lahat ng
senador na tatakbo, talunin niyo, ‘wag nyo ibalik sa Senado kasi magdaldal lang
yan at mag show off para mag yabang,” he added.
Duterte particularly
singled out Senator Gordon for being too “talkative” during Senate investigations
on the use of Covid-19 pandemic response funds.
