The President in his nationally televised addressed said that government
officials are paid to work and tell the truth.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte made such statement in his weekly public
address.
“Wala sa aming trabaho na magsinungaling. What you hear from the mouths
of the speakers are really the truth of what’s the state of the Philippines
today,” the country’s chief executive said.

The President accused the opposition of spreading
lies and being self-aggrandizing.
“Kung gusto ninyo makinig ng mga bola,
self-aggrandizement, advertisement of their talent and all, you listen to the
opposition. Maaaliw kayo sigurado ako,” said Duterte.
“Pero dito, pag-usapan natin ang totoo lang at
bayad kami para magsabi ng totoo. Yun ang trabaho namin,” he added.
