The 123rd Independence Day
celebration was a day to be remembered as the Philippine Air Force joined the
Northern Luzon Command in the commemoration of the 5th Anniversary of the
Renaming of Philippine Rise with the National Security Adviser and Chairperson
of National Task Force-West Philippine Sea (NTF-WPS), Secretary Hermogenes C
Esperon Jr, as Guest of Honor on June 12, 2021, in ceremonies at Clark Air
Base, Pampanga.
The Philippine Air Force, through the Tactical Operations Wing Northern
Luzon under BGEN ARISTOTLE D GONZALEZ PAF, took the lead in organizing the
Solidarity Maritime Patrol over Philippine Rise.
The PAF C-295 aircraft was the primary aircraft for Secretary Esperon,
LTGEN Arnulfo Burgos, and members of the NTF-WPS during the conduct of the
solidarity maritime patrol.

The event was highlighted by the escort mission by two FA-50 Fighter
jets led by the Commanding General, PAF, LTGEN ALLEN T PAREDES over sovereignty
buoys or markers in the Philippine Rise.
Escort mission such as in Maritime Patrols builds confidence and assures
the Filipino people that the Philippine Air Force will always be there to keep
our airspace inviolable and safe for all of us.
The commemoration aims to promote marine conservation and to assert the
country’s sovereign rights on the Philippine Rise formerly known as the Benham
Rise.
