In a report published by
Politiko.com the founder of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder Jose Maria
Sison will speak alongside Vice President Leni Robredo and retired Supreme
Court Associate Justice Antonio Carpio at the launch of 1Sambayan’s Canada
chapter on June 18 (June 19 in the Philippines).
According to the invitation for the online event, Sison and
Carpio will both give “congratulatory messages.” Other personalities expected
to speak include former Bayan Muna party-list Rep. Neri Colmenares, professor
Roland Simbulan, Filipino-American businesswoman Loida Nicolas Lewis and
Migrante International Chairperson Joanna Concepcion.

The CCP founder has been living in exile in the Netherlands
since 1987.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has repeatedly said that the
CCP’s ideology is a dead one and that their atrocities perpetuated by its armed
wing the New Peoples Army(NPA) are plain criminal acts.

among its convenors, aims to field a unified slate of candidates for president,
vice president and 12 senators.
VP Leni Robredo is among the politicians being
considered by the opposition for the presidency.
