The Armed Forces of the Philippines
(AFP) is not slowing down with respect to its modernization whether big or
small.
It was recently announced that the
Philippine Navy’s Philippine Marines Corps’ Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) for
Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities is now ready
for redeployment.
The PMC said that readiness for redeployment is after a “series of tests, repairs, and maintenance from deployment.”

It
noted that it acquired the drone assets in 2017 and had been deployed to Marine
Forces nationwide for Imagery and Targeting Support System.
“The
drone used for this system is the MAG Aerospace SuperSwiper II and acquired
under the Horizon 1 of the AFP Modernization Program. PMC ISR has played
significant roles in the successful marine operations since its arrival to the
Philippine Marine Corps in 2017,” the PMC said.
“This
ISR capability is one of the core capabilities complementing Archipelagic
Coastal Defense (ACD) force-mix. This capability of the Marine Operating Forces
(MOF) enhances situational awareness of the operating environment in
real-time,” it added.
