The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)
is also making great strides not only in their modernization programs but also
in their professionalism.
Four Filipinos
have graduated from United States Coast Guard Academy (USCGA) this year. Among
the four is son of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District Palawan Commander
Commodore Genito Basilio.
The
four Filipino graduates are part of USCGA Class of 2021. The graduation
ceremony was held in New London, Connecticut on May 19. United States of
America President Joe Biden attended the event.

The newly graduates - Genison Basilio, Eric Joseph
Noble, Daisy Anne Atayan, and Dianne Shaira Basuel will serve as commissioned
officer in the PCG.
After graduation the four USCGA graduates will
undergo the Coast Guard Officer’s Course (CGOC) before their commissioning for
PCG service, as per the PCG.
