VP Leni Robredo goes on self-quarantine again after close-in security tests positive for COVID-19

The camp of Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo announced that she will undergo a self-quarantine for the second time after a member of her close-in security team tested positive for COVID-19.

It might be remembered that the Vice President has already undergone a precautionary self quarantine last October 2020 when a member of her close staff also tested positive for COVID-19.

Robredo was supposed to leave for her home province in Bicol (April 17) when she was informed that a member of her close-in security tested positive for COVID-19. She did not contract the virus then.

“I was all set to go. But just a few minutes ago, I received a contact tracing call informing me that my close-in security has tested positive,” she said.

VP Robredo said she was a close contact of her close-in security since they’re together the entire week.

“I was with him in the car, in the elevator, and in the office almost everyday this week. We have regular surveillance antigen testing in the office and we do follow very strict health protocols but because I was a very close contact, I need to do the required quarantine and do an rt-pcr test after my quarantine,” she explained.
