A Mutia PN(GSC) and manned by Fleet-Marine personnel will be deployed together
with other Philippine Navy (PN) vessels in different areas of concern in the
West Philippine Sea (WPS).

The deployment of the ship and
other Philippine Navy’s (PN) floating assets in the Western Command Joint Area
of Operation (JAO) is in line with the directive of the Department of National
Defense and the Armed Forces of the Philippines leadership to intensify the
conduct of sovereignty patrols in order to protect our local fishermen,
preserve the marine environment, and secure our national interest.

strategy in protecting what rightfully belongs to the Philippines.
