Philippines, Israel allies on military modernization, capability upgrade – Israel Ambassador


It is really an advantage that the Philippines is a fried and an ally of Israel.

In this time of our history where we are as a country most vulnerable to outside forces because of our ill-equip soldiers, it is really nice to know that Israel is our trusted ally when it comes to military modernization and capability upgrade.

In these trying time of the pandemic, both countries has renewed its friendship and has joined forces to combat the novel coronavirus 2019 or simply known as Covid-19.

This was expressed by Israel Ambassador to the Philippines Rafael Harpaz during the turn over of donated 10,000 COVID-19 test kits to the Department of National Defense (DND).

Israel’s Ministry of Defense (MOD) – International Defense Cooperation Directorate (SIBAT) donated the said COVID-19 test kits.

DND Secretary Delfin Lorenzana was present during the turn over ceremony held November 5 at DND Social Hall, 3rd Floor, DND Building, Segundo Ave., Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City. Israel MOD-SIBAT was represented by Defense Attaché Mr. Raz Shabtay.

“I hope that this humble contribution will assist in those efforts while we wait for a vaccine,” Shabtay said.

Also present were designated Philippine Ambassador to Israel General Macairog Alberto, Asec. Leslie Baja of OMEAA, Usec. Raymundo DV Elefante of OUSFM, Asec. Teodoro Cirilo T. Torralba III of OASAIA, Asec. Jesus Rey R. Avilla of OASLA, and Asec. Hernando Caraig Jr. of OCD.
