De Lima on Duterte's ranting about VP Leni: ‘Biruin mo na ang lasing, wag lang ang bagong gising’

Detained opposition senator Leila De Lima did not let the opportunity pass to criticize President Rodrigo Roa Duterte for his rantings towards Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo.

In her Twitter post Senator De Lima said : “Balita ko napikon si Duterte kagabi. May kasabihan: Biruin mo na ang lasing, wag lang ang bagong gising.”

“Kung yang tapang-tapangan ni G. Duterte ay ginagamit niya sa paglilingkod sa ating bayan at hindi sa pamumulitika, di sana hindi na niya kailangan ma-insecure sa mga kagaya ni VP Leni na masipag, epektibo, at may silbi,” she said.

The opposition senator said Duterte’s “latest meltdown does not deserve any retort or serious attention.”

“VP Leni has better things to do than to compete with executive deadweight. Lead, follow, or get out of the way. Duterte should get out of the way,” she said.

The reaction of De Lima follows the ranting of the President when he lashed at Robredo for the supposed spreading of news that he was nowhere to be found before, during, and immediate after the wrath of typhoon Ulysses.

For her part, Robredo denies any involvement regarding the now viral #NasaanAngPangulo. But has updated the public of her whereabouts through her social media.
