Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Benjamin E. Diokno
made an inspection last November 6 of the machines that will eventually be used
for the printing of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), commonly
known as the National ID.
According to the BSP Governor the machines have
the capacity to print about 154,000 cards per day.
“Finally, the BSP is ready to print the
#NationalID. We inspected the machines that will print the IDs this morning.
The machines have the capacity to print 154,000 cards per day,” Diokno said.

“The national ID system has been decades in the
making. We look forward to bringing it to the Filipino people to promote
financial inclusion and digitalization,” he added.
BSP said it looks forward to bringing the National IDs to the
Filipino people to promote financial inclusion and digitalization in line with
its Digital Payments Transformation Roadmap 2020-2023.
