Alam na this!!!
After the progressive bloc Makabayan boycotted
the first Senate committee hearing they finally made themselves available to
the Senate to share their side on the issue of “red-tagging.”
One of the revelations and this was totally not expected was the act done by former lawmaker and partylist representative Rep. Teodoro Casiño made it of public record.

He will not denounce the communist New People’s
Army (NPA) and its atrocities against the Philippine government.
Casiño served as Bayan Muna Party List
representative from 2004 to 2013, admitted this when questioned by Sen. Panfilo
Lacson at the Senate hearing on alleged red-tagging Tuesday.
During the hearing, Lacson pointed out that
when fellow Philippine Military Academy cavaliers like Victor Corpus defected
to the NPA, they treated the defectors as “Cavaliers but enemies, because they
became enemies of the state.”
“What I’m trying to say is, kami immediately
when they defected, we considered them as enemies because they became enemies
of the state. Now I’d like to ask you point blank: Do you share the same
sentiment regarding your former members who, sabi nga nila, na sumampa sa NPA
para makipaglaban gamit ang armas?” Lacson asked Casiño.
“Ito bakbakan pumapatay sa sundalo,
nag-e-extort ng may negosyo sa kanayunan,” Lacson added, referring to the NPA.
The Makabayan former lawmaker, Casiño replied,
“We don’t consider then enemies,” adding that they are “engaged in rebellion,
committing an illegal act but we don’t judge them to be enemies.”
His reply prompted Senator Lacson to reply, “I
am sorry to say this but I cannot reconcile,” since they receive salaries from
government yet do not denounce the NPAs who vowed to fight the state.
“Sumusweldo tayo sa govt, sila sumusweldo sa
gobyerno. And then eto member nila na sumampa sa NPA na lumalaban sa estado,
kasi armed na ito. I’m not talking of protest rallies na sinasalihan. Iba na
ito, labanang gyera na ito at nagpapatayan na. that’s why I was surprised sa
sagot ni former Cong Casino di nila pwede i-denounce kaya sabi ko di ko
ma-reconcile,” he said.
Lacson added he denounces NPAs who he said “are
killing civilians, policemen, military officers, and former members who wanted
to go back to mainstream.”
“If I was not part of government then I am free
not to denounce them. Pwedeng may simpatiya ako sa cause. But I’m with
government,” he added.
