A known DDS lawyer lectures students from UP and Ateneo

 

Some students from the State University (University of the Philippines) and Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU) are again calling for the ouster of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

 

Announcements from UPD Anakbayan with their "No Classes Until Duterte Is Ousted" and some Ateneo students with their "Mass Student Strike Now" are making rounds in social media.

 

Atty. Trixie Cruz-Angeles who graduated from University of the Philippines School of Law made known her opinion and posted it in her Facebook account.

She reminded the students what is civil disobedience is and the repercussions of their actions.

Dear Students of UP and Ateneo:

 

If ever you are not yet too consumed by your own hubris, listen:

 

Civil disobedience is a reaction to a situation brought about by real and actual unjust laws and government actions. Not mere disagreement upon concepts such as democracy and freedom.

 

Civil disobedience is done by people who are powerless. And despite that, are persecuted still, in manners which are blatantly violative of laws and the Constitution.

 

Here, there is none. Your disobedience is not civil. It is uncivil. It is spoiled. It is bratty. And most of all, dumb.

 

We don't care if you end up uneducated. The duty of government is to provide the minimum requirements for effective education to exist. Not to educate spoiled idiots who refuse to be educated.

 

What you are doing, you will find if you took time off your juvenile theatrics to read books, is fascist.

 

And student fascism is hilarious. That's all it is.

 

That's all it will ever be.
