The issue surrounding Facebook and its relevance in
Philippine society remains to be a hot debate among politicians.
Opposition stalwart and former senator Antonio
Trillanes IV has a bright idea which will end all the brouhaha about Facebook’s
perceived twisted view as regards what is allowed or not to be in the social
media platform which has a very huge following in the country.
Trillanes offers a simple solution and that is to
banned all President Rodrigo Duterte’s supporters in Facebook.

“Instead of banning Facebook in the Philippines,
why not just BAN DUTERTE AND HIS MINIONS from Facebook? Less toxicity na and
less fake news pa,” Trillanes tweeted last Sept. 30.
The comment came after the President in one of his
public address slammed Facebook took down alleged fake accounts linked to
government.
In the 2016 Presidential elections, Duterte then a
mayor won overwhelmingly against candidates from bigger political parties
largely because of the help of social media one of which is Facebook.
