Statement made by Lt. General Parlade was not red tagging but an "advice." - Sotto

The Senate President agrees with the statement made by Lt. General Antonio Parlade Jr.

Tito Sotto who is currently the sitting Senate President who happens to be part of the entertainment industry even up until now agrees with the statement made by the Department of National Defense(DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana that those personalities who disagreed with the advice of Parlade to stay away from the supposed leftist affliated groups should as a matter of law show an evidence to the contrary.

Sotto is also of the opinion that the statement made by Lt. General Parlade was not an accusation but an “advice.”

So called human rights groups have labbed such statement as “red-tagging”  Ms. Liza Soberano and 2018 Cariona Gray when they were just expressing very pressing women rights issues.

Sotto said that based on reports, Parlade only gave an advice and that it is his opinion and “you can take it with a grain of salt or not.”

’Ngayon, tama yung sinasabi ni General Lorenzana, kung minamasama ng ibang tao yung warning sa kanila, or hindi maganda yung pagsabi nila na parang nirered-tag kung sabihin nga ng iba, eh di present the evidence, bakit mo nasabi yun. Ganoon lang kasimple yun. Tama yung sinabi ni Secretary Lorenzana (General Lorenzana was right. If people did not like the warning (given by Parlade) or the way it was said as if she was being red-tagged, then they present their evidence. That is how it is. Secretary Lorenzana was right),” he explained.

The Senate President was asked whether or not Filipinos should be afraid of the Anti-Terror Law because of the Soberano incident, Sotto said only those who have not read the law.

who should be afraid.

“Terrorist ka ba? Kumakampi ka ba sa mga terrorists? Kung hindi ang sagot mo sa mga yun, bakit mo aalalahanin? Ngayon, kung kumakampi ka sa mga terrorist, talagang may problema ka sa anti-terror law,’’ he said. (Are you a terrorist? Do you support terrorists? If your answer is no, what do you care? Now, if you are a confederate of terrorists, then you have a problem with the Anti-Terror law),” he said.
