Good News!!! PH Coast Guard to commission into service its 2nd Airbus H145 helicopter


Good News from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

Slowly the country is realizing a professional and modern Philippine Coast Guard as it commission to service its second Airbus H145 light twin engine helicopter in the week.

The four-tonne-class twin engine helicopter with tail number CGH-1451 will be one of the activities during PCG’s 119th founding anniversary celebration, PCG said.

“Said aerial asset is a four-tonne-class twin engine helicopter equipped with high frequency radios, emergency flotation gear, fast-roping, cargo sling, search light, and electro-optical systems to perform critical missions including search and rescue, medical evacuation, maritime security operations, and maritime law enforcement,” PCG said.

PCG’s first Airbus H145 with tail number CGH-1452 commissioned into Coast Guard service last June 18, 2020. It has been deployed in various maritime search and rescue and marine environmental protection initiatives since then.

“More importantly, it is one of the most actively utilized PCG asset in transporting PPE sets and medical supplies to far-flung communities amid the COVID-19 pandemic,” PCG said.
