PH Air Force receives brand new Command and Control Aircraft

Good news keeps on coming for the modernizing Philippine Air Force (PAF).

Secretary of Department of National Defense Delfin Lorenzana along with Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief-of-Staff Lieutenant General Gilbert Gapay and the Commanding General, Philippine Air Force Lieutenant General Allen Paredes led the turn-over and blessing ceremony of the G280 Command and Control Aircraft at Clark Airbase, Pampanga on September 21, 2020.

The said aircraft will be used primarily of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) to serve as a platform to transport senior leaders and commanders especially in the event of a crisis.

Also it is expected to be the airborne post for command and control (C2) operations both by the military and the civilian government.

It will also serve as the aircraft can also be used for airborne warning system, medical evacuation, high-altitude atmospheric research, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions.

The acquisition of the Gulfstream G280 was part of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Modernization Program and purchased from the Gulfstream Aerospace through the Foreign Military Sales Program of the United States government with the Joint U.S. Military Assistance Group.
