Malacanang slammed
the statement of Atty. Larry Gadon, and reminded the losing senatorial
candidate last mid term election that he is a member of the Bar and not a
medical doctor.
This was the answer
of Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque when sought to comment over the
statement of Gadon, that wearing face masks cannot prevent the spread of
coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
“Hindi naman duktor kasi si Larry
Gadon. Let that be his personal opinion,” Roque said in his virtual presser
Monday.

Quoting health experts, the
Presidential spokesperson said the use of face masks and other protective
equipment can help limit exposure to the virus.
“Ang mga doctor, ang mga dalubhasa
nagsasabi na ang pagsusuot ng maskara can reduce the risk of acquiring the
disease by as much as 85 percent. Sasamahan pa yan ng face shield almost 90
plus percent ang probability na mapuprotektahan tayo laban sa COVID,” according
to Roque.

“Sana ‘wag na tayo mag-antay na tayo
ay magiging susunod na biktima. Alam natin sa buong mundo na epektibo ang
pagsusuot ng face mask, paghuhugas ng kamay at pag-social distancing,” he added.
