Opposition senator Risa Hontiveros has slammed
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte anew for the latter’s lack of concrete action in
the management of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
The country has already surpassed the 130,000
COVID-19 positive infections, and still the country has no “healthy-heavy”
action plan according to the opposition senator.
According to Hontiveros in her Facebook post “7,000
cases in a day is a wake up call that our response is FAILING. Waiting for a
vaccine is not a plan. We need health-heavy ACTION NOW.”

“Mula pa noong pinaka-unang kaso ng COVID-19 sa
bansa, utang na ng pamahalaan sa mga Pilipino ang isang makatao at medikal na
pagtugon sa problemang ito. No more excuses. Failure to deliver is deadly,” she
said.
As of August 11, the Philippines has registered 2,987
new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total to 139,538. More than 2,000 people
have died from the illness.
