Malacananag did not
mind the comments of detained senator Leila De Lima when she slammed the
President for his lashing out on the group of Doctors and Nurses who appealed
for the Chef Executive to have the National Capital Region to stop the ever increasing
number of positive cases in the country.
“Wala lang po
sigurong magawa si Senator Leila de Lima sa kanyang selda,” Presidential
Spokesperson Harry Roque told reporters in a virtual presser.
In a dispatch from
her detention, the opposition senator called the President “heartless” for
criticizing the move of health workers to take their grievances against the
government’s Covid-19 response public.

In the last public
appearance of the President the President said instead of drafting a letter address
to him, this group of medical frontliner choose to air their grievances to the
public.
But, de Lima disagreed, saying that:
“Nagalit si Duterte sa mga doktor na nagpahayag lang naman ng kanilang mga
saloobin. Karapatan nila yan. Habaan na lang muna daw ang pasensya nila. At
wala na daw ayuda sa mga mahihirap? Kanya kanya na lang? What a heartless
leader.”
