UP educated lawyer slams Sen. Hontiveros for calling out the govt to back off in the ABS-CBN franchise issue

The saga of the Lopez controlled ABS-CBN Corporation continues and supporters and allies in government are voicing out that Malacanang should back off, allegedly its been making sure the TV network will never get a new legislative franchise.
Maybe sensing the rejection of the new franchise President and CEO, ABS-CBN Corporation Carlo Katigbak issued a statement urging everyone to voice their support for the Kapamilya network.

“I would like to thank everyone who has encouraged us, prayed for us, and given us hope over these past few weeks. Your messages have given us strength as we go through this difficult process. We are hopeful that the hearings will soon come to a close, and we would like to lean on you again for your support and prayers. We have always considered ABS-CBN first and foremost a public service. You are our reason for being. If you believe our service to be important and valuable to you, and if you believe that ABS-CBN is deserving to continue providing that service, please let your thoughts and feelings be heard. Thank you always to you, our dearest Kapamilya.

Senator Risa Hontiveros in her part also made a statement which it seems address to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and his allies in the House of Representatives.
“Government needs to get out of the way of the renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise rather than bearing down and stepping on it when government is already forcing it to its knees.”
University of the Philippines alumnus Atty. Nick Nañgit slams and calls the statement of the opposition senator “stupid” for the government represents the State which owns frequency ABS-CBN Corporation will eventually use.

Atty. Nick further reasons out that the government has all the right to make sure that if the recipient of the legislative franchise which would last 25 years has all the requisites of a responsible franchisee.
He reminds the lady senator that the granting of a “franchise is not a right but a privilege.”

Estupidang tuwohhh! 🤔🧐😡
