High-profile drug convict and state witness Jaybee Sebastian is dead, he was he one who because of his testimony pinned down opposition senator Leila De Lima which resulted to her detention in Crame.
But instead of
rejoicing that the witness against her is no longer a problem, she is very
cautious because she believes a new concocted evidence will be fabricated by the
Duterte administration against her.
“The Duterte regime can have 100 live witnesses
for all I care,” the detained senator said Monday. “But this still does not
change the fact that the charges against me are absolutely false and
fictitious.”

De Lima added, “Conversely, the regime’s
witnesses can all be dead, but this will not prevent Duterte and his operators
from inventing other evidence to keep me in jail.”
Sebastian testified
against de Lima at a House probe in 2016, there he stated that he helped the
senator fund her 2016 senatorial campaign using drug money.
De Lima has
repeatedly denied the allegations and claims Sebastian was coerced by the administration
to make a stories against her.
The State witness
died in the National Penitentiary last July 18 due to complications from
COVID-19.
“One less fabrication
might be good in my case, but let us not forget all the other testimony
fabrication,” De Lima said.
