Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teodoro Locsin , Jr. has the backing of the Senate of the President with respect to the rich island of Sabah.
Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III is backing up the statements of the DFA secretary when he posted in Twitter that Sabah is a Philippine authority.

“Sabah is not in Malaysia if you want to have anything to do with the Philippines,” Locsin tweeted, in reaction to the US State Department about its donated hygiene kits to Filipinos repatriated from Sabah which is supposedly part of the Malaysia.

To which his Malaysian counterpart said he will immediately summoned the Philippine ambassador in Kuala Lumpur to explain over the supposed irresponsible remarks.
The Senate President find nothing wrong with the DFA’s pronouncement.
“As far as i know, even until recently, the heirs of the Sultanate of Sulu had been receiving rental payments for the occupancy of Sabah. Sulu is PH! DFA has details,” he tweeted.

“You better edit that announcement if you know what’s good for you,” he added.
Locsin stood by his Twitter rant, saying it is “historically factual” that Sabah is part of the Philippine territory.
