Pres. Duterte calls Maria Ressa a "fraud."

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in his last public address did not hold back in slamming “fake queen” Rappler founder and chief executive officer (CEO) Maria Ressa for her spreading of fake news against the him and for all the time it has put the country in a bad light internationally.

Duterte point blank called filipno-american journalist as a fraud and threatened to expose her in due time.

“Si Ressa is a fraud, maniwala kayo. Give us time. Too early for you to enjoy ‘yung mga award-award mo. You are a fraud actually. Kaya we are just compiling at this stage. And someday in bold letters, we will show your incongruity. You are a fraud,” Duterte said.

Duterte warned Ressa, a known critic and detractor of the Duterte administration, will get to taste of her own medicine “one of these days.”
“I have some folders in me given all throughout the years,” according to him.
“I am not threatening you. Go ahead and expose anything about corruption in this government. Sabi ko sa iyo kung malaki, mag-resign ako,” he added.

Last month Ressa and former Rappler reporter was convicted by a Manila Regional Trial Court for violation of the Cyber Libel law.

Interviews with Ressa locally and internationally after the conviction, claims that her conviction is a slow curtailment of the freedom of the press in the country.
