Malacanang applauds Pinoy’s high compliance to wearing masks

This is Good news somewhat.
A survey conducted by a think tank from the United Kingdom (UK) showed that most Filipinos wear face masks whenever they leave their homes.

Malacanang was elated to hear the news that majority of Filipinos are following the government’s protocol of wearing of masks to curb the spreading novel coronavirus 2019 disease from Wuhan.

“Dahil nagpapababa po ang pagsusuot ng mask doon sa tsansa na mahawa ng sakit, congratulations Philippines. Ipagpatuloy pa po natin ang pagsusuot ng mask, samahan na rin po natin ng social distancing at paghuhugas ng kamay,” said Atty. Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.

In a previous news the officials of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) have blamed the rising cases of COVID-19 infections in the country due to the lack of discipline among Filipinos.
The UK think tank YouGov in partnership with the Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College London revealed that from June 22 to 28, around 91 percent of Filipinos have worn face masks whenever they are outside of their homes.

YouGov said only 1 percent of Filipinos refused to wear face masks.

The country placed second to its fellow ASEAN neighbor Singapore among 29 countries in terms of wearing face masks amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the study showed.
In the latest pronouncement of the President he has directed the Philippine National Police (PNP) to arrest quarantine violators, including individuals who do not wear face masks.

The President vows to look for funds to fulfill his promise in providing free face masks to the public.

“Maghahanap siya ng pondo para bumili ng face mask na ipamimigay ng libre, sana po sa lahat, pero kung hindi kakayaning bigyan ang lahat, sa marami pa pong mga Pilipino,” Duterte said.
