Hontiveros to Duterte Admin : You dismantled the lives of ordinary workers, not oligarchs

Opposition senator Risa Hontiveros is turning a blind eye to the statement of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s dismantling of an oligarch.
The senator sees the action done by the Congress in denying the application bid of the Lopez controlled ABS-CBN Corporation as a dismantling of the lives of the employees/workers.

The overwhelming 70-11 vote by the House of Representatives effectively denied the granting of a fresh 25 year legislative franchise for the Kapamilya network, the country’s biggest media company.

Hontiveros also stressed that it is not only the 11,000 employees of the Kapamilya network who will jobless by the result of the Congress vote, "this [11,000] does not even include the tricycle drivers, eatery workers, vendors and other businesses along Mother Ignacia [Avenue]," where the TV network is headquartered.
The opposition senator also slammed House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano and President Rodrigo Roa Duterte claim that they were able to dismantle by unseating the oligarchy of Lopez because of the denial of the franchise.
"It's not true that the oligarchy has been dismantled. What has been dismantled are the lives of ordinary workers. We should be solving the crisis right now instead of adding to it," she said in Filipino.

"Dati rin ako sa media. Pero higit pa dito, ako'y Pilipino na nakikiisa sa mga kapwa ko Pilipinong nalulungkot, nagdadalamhati, at natatakot sa kung ano'ng hatid ng bukas. (I used to work in the media. But more than that, I'm a Filipino united with other Filipinos who are upset, distraught and afraid of what tomorrow might bring)," Hontiveros said.
