The House Speaker of the House of
Representatives is getting more than his
share of criticisms an offshoot of the decision killing the bid of the
Lopez-controlled ABS-CBN Corporation for a fresh 25 year legislative franchise.
In his latest Facebook post he
defended the position hdecided by the 70 congressmen who voted to deny the
application as against the 11 who sees it otherwise.

out that they simply ended the privilege of one’s family.

"For those who continue to push the freedom of the press
card, Congress is not stifling the right of any journalist, host, commentator,
talent, or employee of ABS-CBN — or any Filipino for that matter — from
criticizing the government," Speaker Cayetano said.
"We simply put an end to the privilege of one family in
using a public resource to protect and promote their private interests,"
he added.
11,000 employees will be rendered
jobless, the Speaker of the House said the government wants a "better
and equal opportunities for all" which, to him, will not be possible with
an economy controlled by "less than 20 families in a country of 110
million Filipinos."
