Its been always this simple – buy
local, support your fellow Filipino.
San Miguel Corporation (SMC) President
and Chief Operating Officer (CoO) Ramon Ang has made a call to all Filipinos to
do their shar no matter how small in helping rebuilding an economy shattered by
COVID-19 pandemic.
“It is because of Filipinos who take
the initiative to help, that I believe we will overcome this challenge
together.

We can donate. We can support our
economy by patronizing Filipino brands, small businesses and farmers,” Ramon
Ang said in his Facebook post.
The SMC President also remind
Filipinos to wear masks and protective gear/s to prevent the continuing spread
of the novel coronavirus 2019 disease or COVID-19.
“Most of all, stay home if there is no
urgent reason to go out. Small efforts when combined will lead to big gains,”
he said.
Supporting
the Govt.
Ramon Ang has been very vocal in his
support for President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s policies as against the COVID-19
pandemic.
One such incident is when Ang voiced
his support for the decision of Duterte to extend an enhanced community
quarantine in mid-March which was extended from one month to three months to
contain the virus, noting that protecting lives were more important than the
economy.
Ang despite the pandemic decided to
continue major infrastructure projects such as the 12 one-million-tons-a-year
feed mills, new breweries in Cagayan de Oro and Sta. Rosa in Laguna, expansion
of Masinloc power plant, expansion of poultry farms, completion of toll ways
and railways (Skyway 3, Skyway Extension, Skyway 4, Metro Rail Transit Line 7
and Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway), and the Bulacan airport.
said Ang.
“Ang alam ko, if you
invest, it creates jobs and that is what the people need.
