President Rodrigo Roa Duterte delivered his fifth(5th) state
of the nation address (SONA) and one of his marching orders was for the two
giant telcos in the country to “Shape up” or faces the consequences.
The President after slamming senator Frank Drilon’s whom he
accused of defending the Lopez decades old oligarchy, set his targets to Smart
Communication ang Globe Telecoms lackluster services in the country.
President Duterte threatened them that he will revoke their
licenses and frequencies of the local telcos should they fail to improve
“before December.”

“Kindly improve the services before December. I want to call
Jesus Christ to Bethlehem, better have that line cleared,” according to the
Chief Executive.
“If you are not ready to improve, I might just as well close
all of you and we revert back to the line telephone at kukunin ko yan,
i-expropriate ko sa gobyerno,” he added.
The Chief executive said the Filipino people have had enough
of “lousy” telco services.
“The patience of the Filipino people is reaching its limit,
and I will be the one to articulate the anger of the Filipino people, and you
might not want what I intend to do,” he concluded.
