The
Lopez-controlled ABS-CBN Corporation should pay the penalty according to one
solon who was part of the 70 who voted for the rejection of the application of
franchise by the Kapamilya network.
Deputy
House Speaker and SAGIP Partylist representative said that ABS-CBN should
penalize for more than P1 trillion from the illegal sale of their TV plus.
In
an interview with the SMNI News, Rodante Marcoleta insisted that there was no approval
from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) for the sale of TV Plus.

The
solon is very firm in his argument that the Kapamilya network has no right to sell
that product because the Kapamilya network before is operating a free- to- air
channel as provided by the franchise given before.
He
also said it was illegal for ABS-CBN to ask for payment for the pay-per-view airing
of the May 3, 2015 mega fight of Senator Manny Pacquiao at Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Marcoleta
urges the NTC to take actions regarding the violations stated.
As
regards to the criticisms Congress is getting for the denial of the franchise
of the ABS-CBN Corporation, he maintains everything was decided above board and
based from pieces of evidence they were able o uncover during the Congressional
committee hearings.
“Hindi
po kami magiging pikit-mata na payagan na lamang po namin ang napakaraming
paglabag at bibigyan na namin sila ng prangkisa na aabot ng 25 years – para
ulitin na naman ang kanilang ginawa.” The solon said.
He
urges those who are supporting the Lopez controlled media giant to accept that
the law was violated which resulted to the non-renewal of the franchise.
“Sa
mga nagsisimpatiya sa ABS-CBN, sana ay hanapin po ninyo sa puso ni’yo ang
katotohanan na hindi po puwedeng hindi kayo magpailalim sa batas. Ang batas po
ay ginawa ng pamahalaan para sa kapakanan ng kaniyang higit na nakakaraming kaniyang
mamamayan. At kung kayo po ay mamemersonal, wala po kaming magagawa diyan. Iyan
po ay karapatan ninyo, mang-atake sa amin. Pero naniniwala kami na mas marami
at higit na marami ang Pilipino na naniniwala sa pinaglaban namin. Pagka’t
ito’y para sa kanila at para sa ikakatatag ng ating pamahalaan”, Marcoleta
explains.
