Opposition senators Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan and Rissa
Hontiveros are both in the same page in calling out the Duterte administration’s
prioritization of an anti-terrorism bill instead of focusing on the novel coronavirus
2019 disease or COVID 19 pandemic.
Both senators of the Liberal Party is urging government to
focus all efforts related to COVID-19.
In separate statements, Hontiveros
and Pangilinan expressed their utterly dismay with President Rodrigo Roa
Duterte’s certification as urgent of House Bill 6875 or the proposed amendments
to the Human Security Act of 2007.

Pangilinan said.
“I believe it is
open to abuse. This is one compelling reason why I voted against it,” he added.
Both senators voted against the counterpart bill in the
Senate when it was passed by the chamber on third and final reading in February.
The lady senator said government more than ever should address
problems on public transportation, COVID-19 mass testing
and the revival of the economy amid
the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Whole of government ‘di ba? Heal as one di ba?
said.
