The first one to
acknowledge the simple , eloquent, but firm understanding of the Anti-
Terrorism bill of Leyte 4th district Congresswoman Lucy Torres-Gomez was the
Senate President himself- Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
The Senate President
and senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson are the principal authors of Anti-Terrorism bill
which have been in constant attack from those critics of the current
administration, despite countless explanation and assurances that safeguards are
found in the bill which will not in any other way trample the constitutional
protected civil rights of every Filipino as enshrined in the 1987 Constitution.
And now it’s the turn
of Senator Panfilo Lacson to acknowledge the support given by the better half
of Ormoc city mayor Richard Gomez in this time where it seems it has been the
battle of personalities for and against the proposed measure.

Sen. Ping said this Saturday after Lucy Torres-Gomez
took to Facebook to defend the proposed Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 from its
detractors.
“Representative Lucy Torres-Gomez is all about
beauty, brains, courage, patriotism and statesmanship,” Lacson said in a post
on his Twitter account.
In her Facebook post the lady solon said the country’s present inability
to arrest and prosecute these “terrorist”, “keeps law enforcement’s hands tied
until a terrorist event occurs.”
“It’s like giving the terrorists a free pass,
telling them that we are just going to watch their acts of terror unfold first,
and then we get our cue to run after them. The terrorists are literally having
‘more fun in the Philippines,’ because our laws allow it so. This makes us a
very conducive venue to undertake, plan and prepare for terrorist activities,”
she said.
