The issue regarding what they
call “culture of rape” has opened so much in media that is good for a society
like ours.
Being in the headlines means that
people are talking about it, the more we talk about it, the more people will be
educated about the issue.
We have to note that this started
when Mr. Ben Tulfo posted in Twitter addressing the daughter of senator Francis
“Kiko” Pangilinan and the Sharon Cuneta.

From that exchange it is where it
is right now, a full blown discussion of the issue which is highlighted by the
outburst of Sharon Cuneta calling out a netizen whom she describes as “threatening”
his daughter of rape.
Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla
joined the fray when he posted in Facebook asking his followers to leave ‘Mr.
Ben” alone and not to waste time on him.

“Lubayan na ninyo si Mr. Ben. Alam naman natin kung
sino ang tama. Sayang lang ang oras natin sa kanya. Ako ay pang-romansa lang
talaga,” he said.
The Cavite governor also defended his
convictions regarding rape, saying his main concern is the protection of the
people. “I have no ego to protect. I only care to protect the people,” he said
in a photo card posted on Facebook.
Remulla earlier posted a message addressed to “Mr.
Ben” that “Rape is not an act of sex. It is an act of violence. #HijaAko.”
Ben Tulfo did not take the
opinion of the governor sitting down and posted also his opinion slamming the
Cavite governor, saying that he should just focus attending the affairs of his
constituents and not of other issues not relating to his job as governor.
Tulfo explains that personally and his
BITAG team have actually assisted victims of rape and other crimes related to
illegal drugs.
“Bago ka makisawsaw sa issue, asikasuhin mo muna
ang probinsiya mo! KSP ka lang siguro. Kabisado ko estilo mo, ‘di yan uubra sa
akin,” he said.
“Kami sa BITAG, palaban sa
totoong mundo. Takbuhan, tagapag-tanggol ng mga biktima ng KARAHASAN,
PANGHAHALAY at KARUMAL-DUMAL NA KRIMEN dulot ng droga,” he said.
Gov., kumusta ba ang statistika
ng mga kasong panghahalay sa probinsiya mo? Kumusta ba ang kaso ng mga droga
diyan? he adds.
