AFP gagawing military outpost ang 2 deactivated oil rigs sa Palawan

Sa pagpapalakas ng presence ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa West Philippine Sea (WPS) gagawing military outpost ang mga dalwang lumang oil rig na matatagpuan at malapit sa Palawan, para na din sa mas madalas na pagbabanatay ng ating teritoryo sa West Philippine Sea (WPS).


“It will increase our maritime domain awareness and our operational reach,” sabi ni AFP chief Gen. Felimon Santos Jr.

Ang tinutukoy ng Chief of Staff na gagawing mitary outposts ay ang mga Nido and Matinloc platforms na matatagpuan sa Northwest ng province of Palawan.
Ang dalawang oil rig ay nagsarado noong Nobyerno 2019 pagkatapos ng apat na dekadang operasyon, kung saan ito ay nakapaglabas ng 31 milyon barrel ng langis.
Bukod sa pangunahing gamit na military outpost, maari din itng gamitin na “shelter” o silong ng mgamangingisda at researchers tuwing masama ang panahon sa karagatan ani ni Chief of Staff Santos.


Ang mga nabanggit na oil platform rigs ay ininspeksyon ni Santos nung nakaraang Llinggo,nang mag iikot ito sa mga nasasakupan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines Western Command.
