Useless to talk about Opening of classes, without a vaccine - Pres. Duterte

The President made it clear that he would not be the head of State that would stake the lives of the future of this country.

In his late public address Monday night President Rodrigo Roa Duterte was very clear when he said its “useless” to talk about the opening of classes when the invisible enemy – coronavirus, still has no cure in the near future.

Vaccine that can cure this global pandemic is still not in sight and the  human race is still on its knees still trying to cope with the pandemic that was brought about by the novel coronavirus disease or COVID-19 which finds its origin in Wuhan, China.

The President would not allow the millions of students to crowd inside the classrooms unless their safety can be assured.

“Mga bata, ‘wag muna. ‘Yang opening ng classes, that’s a, I will not allow the opening of classes na magdikit dikit ‘yang mga bata. Bahala na hindi na makatapos,” Pres. Duterte said.
(Children, not yet – the opening of classes. I will not allow the opening of classes if children will be crowded together in the classrooms.)

“For this generation, wala nang makatapos na doktor pati engineer. Kasi hindi na, wala nang aral. Laro na lang. Unless I am sure that they are really safe.”
(..no one will finish medicine, even engineering. Because there’ll be no lessons…)
“It’s useless to be talking about the opening of classes. Para sa akin, bakuna muna. Pag nandyan ang bakuna, okay na (For me, vaccine first. If it’s available, it’s OK). Remember that,” he further said.
