Trillanes slams Duterte over unfulfilled promise to rebuild Marawi: ‘No new city, residents still refugees’




Magdalo and former senator Antonio Trillanes IV is making this himself noisy again but this tie he slams the President for the current situation Marawi city is in at the present time.

After three years from its liberation to the Islamic militants that occupied the city, it remains to be in ruins brought about by the clashes between government troops and the violent extremists.


Trillanes said the Marawi residents displaced by the war remain refugees in the temporary shelters as the national government has yet to start rebuilding a new and modern city.

“After the destruction of Marawi 3 yrs ago, duterte promised to build a new modern city. Maraming nagtiis at umasa,” he tweeted.

Trillanes criticizes President for not keeping his promise to the residents of Marawi regarding the supposed rehabilitation programs.

“Fast forward today, still no new city and the people of Marawi are still refugees. Grabe manloko itong taong ito,” he said.


The Marawi siege began last May 23, 2017 and it took five months of war between the government troops and the Islamic militants who want s to declare their own Islamic state, it ended October 2017 after its leaders where terminated by the military.
